Yankees Claim Danny Farquhar

June 26, 2012

It wasn’t a surprise that Danny Farquhar would find himself on the outside looking in when the A’s needed a roster spot, perhaps more surprising is that he was plucked off of waivers. The Yankees were the claiming team, ending his string of Toronto to Oakland to Toronto to Oakland transactions. Farquhar pitched in all of five games and eight innings with the River Cats to the tune of a 10.13 ERA, 6.33 FIP with 6.8 K/9, 6.8 BB/9 and 1.1 HR/9 with a miserable .333 BABIP and miserable 54.3% strand rate.

Can’t say I have any strong opinions one way or the other regarding Farquhar. Wish him the best of luck trying to crack the Yankees bullpen.
